Student Activist Bundle NOW AVAILABLE!

The holidays have arrived early for students and those who work with youth! The Youth Impact Team has put together a “Student Activist Bundle” which guide both high school and university students to start a “NO MORE” club at their schools or guide existing organizations in hosting “NO MORE” awareness events! One of DVN’s 2015 goals is to support 5 new “NO MORE” clubs or events by existing organizations (like GSA’s or Young Life) during the 2015-2016 school year. These clubs will be student driven and will host awareness events, social media campaigns, and advocate for schools to improve response/prevention efforts on dating abuse and sexual assault.

A step-by-step guide to organizing these clubs is the first piece of the bundle. Students are guided through the process of starting a new club at school or persuading existing organizations to take up the “NO MORE” message. From there, students are encouraged to be creative on how to spread the message, but several suggestions are included in the guide. In total, there are 10 documents ranging from these start-up guides to statistics and information, and posters. Finally, an event guide is included which gives timetables, checklists, and suggestions for hosting a “NO MORE” event. All of these tools are available at no cost and DVN staff will gladly help facilitate these events in Central Indiana and make your student’s club a success!
