SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTIONS

Serve as a culturally competent, creative, and engaging person to work with youth, DVN staff, and board members to coordinate, develop and facilitate programs and services for youthThe Youth Program Coordinator is responsible for conducting in-school and community-based youth education on teen dating violence, sexual violence, and healthy relationships. The Youth Program Coordinator will provide support to Youth Network and engage schools to start NO MORE clubs. Serves as the DVN liaison for all healthy relationship/youth collaborative projects. Provides teen dating violence simulation to the community..

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS 

  • Engage children and young adults in conversation around healthy relationships. 
  • Provide education on teen dating violence, sexual violence, and healthy relationships to the community, and schools.
  • Develop new partnerships and manage existing partnerships within the community.
  • Engage community members in the DVN collaborative projects. 
  • Collect data related to youth training.
  • Develop and prepare all materials and tool kits for educational sessions.
  • Develop, administer and track pre and post-tests.
  • Deliver educational sessions. 
  • Maintain educational session attendance records.
  • Maintain follow-up records with session attendees and organizations.
  • Oversee the Youth Network.
  • Develop and facilitate NO MORE club in Central Indiana Schools, particularly, IPS.
  • Serve as the DVN liaison for all healthy relationship/youth collaborative projects.

 

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Driver’s License Required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Knowledge and experience in building strong professional and collaborative relationships.
  • Experience teaching or leading workshops, training sessions, or meetings.
  • Experience preparing evaluation and project progress reports.
  • Trustworthy with the ability to handle confidential matters and sensitive information or situations with discretion. 
  • Knowledge of domestic violence issues is essential- particularly teen dating violence, sexual violence, and healthy relationships.
  • Excellent writing, oral, and presentation skills; exceptional interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated record of developing and cultivating relationships with external stakeholders as well as with colleagues across the organization. 
  • Experience in working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook and strong PowerPoint skills with demonstrated experience crafting presentations and communicating messages effectively with charts and graphs to represent analytical results 
  • Flexibility to adjust hours and work as needed to attend evening and weekend events and meetings. 
  • Strong poise and social skills and the ability to interact with people from a wide diversity of backgrounds and cultures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ADA REQUIREMENTS

  1. Ability to review detailed proposals/written communications/agreements and view computer monitor; must be able to perceive space. 
  2. The person in this position frequently communicates with donors, colleagues, board members who have inquiries about the organization. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  3. Must be able to handle heavy keyboard use and process large volumes of paperwork.
  4. Stationary position for 50% of time 
  5. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
