Welcome Back Troy Riggs!

The Domestic Violence Network is pleased to learn of incoming Mayor Joe Hogsett’s decision to appoint former
Director of Public Safety, Troy Riggs, as the new Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s Chief of Police.

DVN has a long history of partnering with IMPD on the Baker One initiative, developing a database to gain a better understanding of domestic violence in the criminal justice system,  as well as providing best practice training for the department. Collaboration with our police department is key in victim safety and offender accountability and no one has been more collaborative than Troy Riggs.

It’s immediately clear that Riggs cares about domestic violence when speaking with him. His data driven policing approach assists the Network in providing prevention services to high risk areas. He also firmly believes that you can not tackle crime without also addressing other risk factors such as addictions, mental health and poverty.

Welcome back Chief Riggs. We look forward to our continued partnership with you!
