Lindsay is a Real LIfe Woman Superhero!

STUDIO MOVIE GRILL SELECTS LINDSAY STAWICK AS INDIANAPOLIS’

“REAL LIFE WOMAN SUPERHERO”

Forever changed by the deadly effects of domestic abuse, the mentor and community advocate will be honored in Dallas at a red-carpet screening of

Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Wonder Woman”

DALLAS, TX (May 17, 2017) – Lindsay Stawick, who “took tragedy and turned it into action” and now mentors teens against the “warning signs of teen dating abuse” as program manager at the Domestic Violence Network is Indianapolis’ “Real Life Woman Superhero.”  Stawick was one of the more than 700 nominees submitted to Studio Movie Grill (SMG) as part of a nationwide search for everyday women making a big difference in our communities.

Nominations were solicited for a month (April 14-May 14) to find the women with the most inspiring stories from each of SMG’s 11 markets, including Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Indianapolis, Philadelphia, Rocklin/Sacramento, Scottsdale/Phoenix, Simi Valley/Los Angeles and Tampa.

In the search to find the perfect candidates, a seven-person review committee carefully combed through each submission to select worthy representatives from each market, in addition to a special selection made by the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show. The “Real Life Women Superheroes” were chosen based on their dedication to helping others, resiliency in the face of tough circumstances and professional achievements.

Stawick and a guest, along with her fellow honorees, will be flown via Southwest Airlines to Dallas (home of SMG’s corporate headquarters) to see one of the world’s most iconic big screen super heroes in action at their own special red-carpet screening of the highly-anticipated action adventure Wonder Woman on May 31st. Prior to the film, each honoree will be presented SMG’s “Opening Hearts and Minds” Award, in support of SMG’s mission to open hearts and minds, one story at a time. A $1,000 donation will also be made to each honoree’s charity of choice.

The Warner Bros. Pictures release starring Gal Gadot in the title role and directed by Patty Jenkins, opens nationwide on Friday, June 2.

Stawick’s compelling nomination, submitted online at www.studiomoviegrill.com, read:

“Lindsay Stawick is deserving of being recognized as a Real Life Superhero because of the true inspiration and example she is to youth and the community of Indianapolis through her work as the youth program manager for the Domestic Violence Network (DVN). Lindsay took tragedy and turned it into action. In 2008, her high school friend was brutally murdered by her boyfriend. This tragedy inspired Lindsay to study social work in college and fuels her passion to ensure other teens in the community don’t fall victim to an unsafe relationship. In the past two years, Lindsay has taught more than 4,000 students about the warning signs of teen dating abuse and how they can engage in healthy relationships. She works day after day to make sure young people know they matter and that experiences that come their way may be difficult or happy, but there are people who would help support them. Lindsay also works part time with the Community Health Network to offer support and resources to sexual assault victims. And she launched an anti-violence club at Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet Middle and High School. She is a ‘visionary leader’ who never stops thinking about how to change the culture of violence in a positive way in our community. “
