June Advocates Meeting

DVN’s June 3rd Advocate Training will be on “Best Practices when working with Clients in Poverty.”  A light breakfast will start at 8:30 am and the meeting will start at 9:00 am and will last until approximately 1:00 pm. Marie Wiese from the Julian Center will guide us through a Poverty Simulation and there will be time afterwards to process through and discuss our thoughts and reactions to the Simulation. Marie will speak with us a little about the Circles of Support movement happening at the Julian Center and the end. If we have at least ten people sign up, we will have a pizza lunch made available while we have discussion ($5/per person payable the morning of the training). This is a wonderful time to network and build relationships with other agencies!

This meeting will be held at Tabernacle Presbyterian Church located at 418 E. 34th Street.

Feel free to invite a colleague or business partner to any of the Advocate meetings. They are always free and community involvement is encouraged and needed to reach our goal to prevent and end domestic violence.
