Per Diem Contractor Position – Licensed Counselor (2 positions available)

Beacon of Hope Center for Women, Inc. is a Christ-centered organization empowering victims of domestic violence to become self-sufficient by providing safety, support and education. Our Beacon of Hope crisis center provides victim advocacy services to victims of domestic violence. Our victim advocacy team provides victims with emotional support and help finding resources. Our advocates help victims with filling out paperwork and sometimes go to court with victims. In an effort to best help and get information for victims we reach out to other collaborative partners and organizations such as social service agencies and law enforcement for criminal justice assistance. We have a crisis call hotline team that fields incoming crisis calls. Our team provides assistance with obtaining safe housing, victim advocacy, court advocacy, protective orders, medical and dental care, counseling, emergency hotel stays and many other necessary services through our advocacy programs. We have a phenomenal team and we strive each and every day to ensure that we are informed, empowered, encouraged and ready to service our clients in every way that is needed.

We are looking to hire two licensed counselors as contractors to provide therapy hours to our clients and our staff. One contracted counselor will be contacted by our staff member to set up appointments with our clients.

The second contracted counselor will be contacted by our staff member to set up counseling for themselves. Both contracted counselors will report the number of hours and number of clients/staff they have seen every week to the Director of Victim Advocacy Services and the Executive Director/CEO of the agency.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must be available to be on call Monday – Friday between 8am and 7pm.

• Provide individualized assessments to staff, clients, and families.

• Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.

• Maintain appropriate case record documentation in accordance with state regulations.

• Use clinical practice to assess needs, provide treatment, and/or make referrals.

• Help to ensure effective social/emotional support of all staff through consultation with managers in the facilitation of better agency practices of stress management.

• Support the data collection and analysis needed to evaluate agency’s services being provided to the community in order to suggest and implement program improvements.

• Outreach, training, and group work, as needed, in relevant topic areas with staff.

• Communicate effectively with staff about client progress.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed MSW, LMSW, LCSW, LMHC or LMFT by the state of Indiana.

• Master Degree in Social Work or related field (Psychology, counseling, mental health)

• Excellent writing skills, ability to submit documentation on a set timeline.

Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint),

• Thorough understanding of DSM-V mental health diagnoses and treatment approaches for adults and children.

• Ability to provide professional, confidential services to staff and clients, as well as, function in a high paced environment.

• Ability to work with culturally diverse and under-represented populations. • Strong communicative and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. • Experience in domestic violence, sexual assault, and trauma recovery.

• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
