Victim Advocates Guide to Safety and Economic Security for Victims of Violence Against Women

Wider Opportunities for Women (WOW) and the Economic Security for Survivors (ESS) Project are pleased to introduce its newest resource. The Victim Advocate’s Guide to Safety and Economic Security for Victims of Violence Against Women (Victim Advocate’s Guide) outlines the connection between survivors’ economic security and the ability of advovates both within the community and the justice system to help them recover and access economic justice. It offers practical, concrete recommendations that advocates can employ to help survivors overcome the economic barriers that prevent them from participating in the justice system, ensure their safety by restoring independence and economic security, and foster collaboration across systems.

The Victim Advocate’s Guide can be downloaded here.

In addition to policy suggestions and training guidelines, the Victim Advocate’s Guide is also accompanied by a short, user-friendly pocket guide on addressing economic security in domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking cases.
