Serving All Who Experience Violence in Hamilton County

Prevail, Inc. is dedicated to serving victims of crime and abuse in a confidential, supportive, non-judgmental environment that is meant to empower, educate and strengthen those we serve.  By offering these life-saving services, free of charge, we help people move forward – to give hope for a life free of violence and fear – to provide care and understanding in crisis – to help make an easier path in facing life’s challenges. Prevail seeks to make positive change happen – in individuals and families, in our communities, and in our social systems. Prevail provides a variety of programs based on a trauma-informed model.  The services offered to any given person vary based on each client’s individual needs.  We provide both crisis intervention services as well as ongoing, restorative support services.

  • We provide crisis intervention services including a 24/7 crisis line to respond to all crisis calls offering information, referrals and emotional support. Advocates are available 24 hours a day to provide on-site response to area hospitals in support of victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
  • In-person services include an initial meeting with the client to complete an intake which includes a danger assessment, an individual safety plan and a needs assessment.
  • Prevail’s ongoing services include individual appointments, support groups, protective order assistance, court support, employment services, financial education, HopeLine Cell Phone program, transportation to shelter, and assistance with filing Violent Crime Compensation forms.  In addition, we offer referrals to community partners such as shelter, food pantries, law enforcement, attorneys, and therapists.

At Prevail, we recognize that there are a wide variety of people who need and could benefit from our help.  In an effort to serve all victims of crime, we have attended training to learn how we can better meet the needs of everyone we serve.  We have made some changes, including making our restrooms all-gender, reviewing policies, and recommending changes to facility artwork and language to reflect our desire to meet the needs of all who may need our help.

As an agency, Prevail’s urgent concern is for those we serve who have been victims of violent crime.  Because we recognize that the services we provide are a  critical, often life saving, link in the chain of services a survivor might need, with this opportunity to receive the Open for Service designation, we look forward to better services, a more welcoming environment, and better outcomes for those who need our help.
