The Domestic Violence Network (DVN) seeks a dynamic, goal oriented professional to serve as the part time Advancement Manager (25 hours per week) responsible for supporting the implementation of a comprehensive philanthropic strategy. The successful candidate will have a firm belief in prevention of domestic violence through cultural change and a passion for serving communities of need as well as a track record of successfully managing development.
OVERVIEW: The Advancement Manager effectively manages all aspects of the Domestic Violence Network’s development program for both individual and corporate donors, securing financial support from these donors in support of the Domestic Violence Network’s annual operating budget. The incumbent will coordinate projects including: direct mail, email, social media, mobile and online campaigns; event planning; corporate sponsorships; as well as be responsible for timely and accurate reporting of results. The Manager will be accountable for participating in efforts which support the achievement of the Domestic Violence Network’s contributed revenue goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop a portfolio of corporate and individual donors including prospecting, cultivating and stewarding successful relationships.

2. Coordinates renewal and upgrade campaigns targeted for individual and corporate donors to the Organization by drafting copy, preparing and producing letters as well as preparing address data lists for internal mailings and external mail house vendors.

3. Identify and implement strategies to maintain and grow current database.

4. Assures effective return on investment and maintains cost analysis of each campaign, event, or project. Works with internal colleagues as appropriate for image, design and copy approval.

5. In concert with Executive Director, creates, manages, and produces an annual calendar of donor and prospective donor events, including the annual signature event, Night with the Network. Plans and executes all activities associated with the events.

6. Secures corporate sponsors in conjunction with events, managing these constituents’ sponsorship benefits and fulfillment.

7. Manages donor-centered communications, creating a content calendar in order to distribute compelling, engaging messages about DVN’s mission outcomes and case for support. Manages the pathways for all DVN’s constituents (both donor and non-donor) to engage further with DVN activities and mission.

8. Manages donor stewardship, including donation gift processing, donor gift acknowledgements, and sponsorship fulfillment.

9. Serves as administrator of the donor database software. Includes future system upgrades, imports from other software (e.g., Eventbrite), data integrity, report generation and donor segmentation.

10. Generates donor event invitation lists, e-newsletter lists, and other special donor or prospect mailings.

11. Provides excellent customer service and maintains a positive relationship with all donors and internal DVN staff and volunteers.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
2. Three years related work experience.
3. Proven track record of successful fund development.
4. Proven track record of successful special event execution.
5. The ability to coordinate multiple priorities and excellent organizational skills.
6. Excellent writing skills for creating letters, proposals, and reports. Data accuracy and excellent grammar skills are critical.
7. Strong poise and social skills and the ability to interact with people from a wide diversity of backgrounds and cultures.
8. Sound knowledge of fund-raising and business terminology, process and etiquette.
9. Proficiency and ability to learn and utilize various types of computer based software (Bloomerang, Wealth Engine, Prospect Visual, Excel, Word)
10. Able to work independently requiring a minimum amount of supervision.
11. A highly motivated team player with a sense of humor and passion for the work.

ADA REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to review detailed proposals/written communications/agreements and view computer monitor; must be able to perceive space.
2. The ability to communicate extensively via telephone, email, one-on-one conversation and with a group.
3. Must be able to handle heavy keyboard use and process large volumes of paperwork.
4. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 40 lbs and negotiate local travel via traditional modes of transportation; must be able tolerate dust in the work in environment.
