Q&A with Molly Lindsay:

What do you do to combat domestic violence?

I have worked for Connect2Help211 for almost three years and recently took the position as a Domestic Violence Outreach Specialist. As an I&R specialist I offer encouragement, resources, and advocacy to callers in need from across Indiana and help them move toward long-term self-sufficiency.

The safety and wellbeing of these callers is my top priority. In this new position I will travel to the counties we serve to provide awareness about 211’s domestic violence supportive services.

What motivates you?

There are so many people in need of help. My goal is to make sure every county we serve knows about 211 and our domestic violence services. As an I&R specialist every caller is different and may need different resources. Some callers need access to a safe place immediately, while some may need counseling services. Whatever the circumstance, I am happy to offer them support. Being able to provide tangible help and encouragement motivates me.

What is your favorite hobby?

I am passionate about youth ministry and volunteering. I currently serve at Indy Metro Church and Wheeler Mission Ministries. I also like theater, painting, reading, and writing.

What is your favorite quote or mantra?

“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.” ~ Mother Teresa

How has being a DV Advocate helped in your career?

I am thankful for the knowledge and support I am gaining from being an advocate and look forward to working with other agencies!
