Sermon Notes on Domestic Violence
The Domestic Violence Network put together a series of four sermons focusing on domestic violence and the church using the “No More” campaign.
Summary of Topics
1. NO More Silence-The power of domestic violence and sexual assault to impact our communities is strengthened when good people remain silent.
2. NO More Shame-Those experiencing domestic violence often feel shame and blame themselves for abuse. As faith communities, we should commit to showing compassion.
3. NO MORE Abuse of Scripture-It is especially disturbing to people of faith when the Bible is twisted and misconstrued to justify wicked behavior or abuse.
4. NO MORE Complacency-As people of faith, what can we do? How do we support those among us who are or have experienced violence?
