Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy Core 40
June 4, 2014 - July 30, 2014
All Day
Hasbrook Building
About the Training
Sexual Assault Victim Advocates have unique and challenging roles. When someone is sexually assaulted and turns to an advocate for help that individual must be knowledgeable, compassionate, intuitive, responsive, and determined. The sexual assault victim advocate must have a strong grasp on the criminal justice process, the
rape kit, statutes, compensation, and a myriad of other processes and protocols.
Indiana Coalition Against Sexual Assault (INCASA) is offering the annual basic training for sexual assault victim advocates. Legislation has passed to provide
certification for sexual assault victim advocates. INCASA worked in partnership with the Indiana Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Standards and Certification Board to ensure that a quality training program is developed to meet the needs of advocates and survivors.
Designed to improve and standardize the procedures that sexual assault victim advocates follow, this 40-hour comprehensive training program is an excellent program for sexual assault advocates from those just starting out to the seasoned advocate. This comprehensive basic course will help better prepare sexual assault victim advocates for the certification program.
