Motivational interviewing is a compassionate and accepting person centered
technique to help motivate the client to recognize change in his or her life. It is a
valuable skill for anyone helping a survivor of sexual assault work through the trauma
caused by the assault.

Through this training, advocates will:
1.) Learn the basic concept and skills involved in motivational interviewing
2.) Learn how to apply these techniques to helping survivors of sexual assault
3.) Be encouraged to apply these techniques to interactions with the survivors they
assist.

This webinar will be presented March 26 at 1:00 EST by Brian Guerre, MSW, LSW
Director of PREA and Mental Health Services with INCASA.
