9:00 am - 11:00 am

Join us for our May Advocates Network meeting!  Amanda Keating (Research Analyst at DVN and a Climate Reality Leader) and Claire Holba (Executive Director of Patchwork Indy and a Climate Reality Leader) present Intersections of the Climate and Refugee Crises. This presentation discusses an issue, the climate crisis, that disproportionately affects certain populations and why. The presenters will touch on some of the basic science, as well as zero in on how this issue is affecting refugee and other populations at such disproportionate levels. Attendees will leave with more knowledge on how our Earth’s cycles are rapidly changing, as well as a better understanding of how climate change compounds on to, and in some cases helps create, many of the issues that vulnerable populations already face. Attendees will also become familiar with local organizations working to combat some of these issues, and ways to make small changes that can help.
