Attendees will engage in a robust discourse around detouring the school to prison pipeline. Participants should be ready to fully engage with colleagues through conversation, video and real life simulations and find out where you would end up in the pipeline as well as discuss the data that sits in front of educators. Strategies will be shared to detour the pipeline from one district’s journey due to significant disproportionality of students with disabilities. Attitudes and perceptions play a major role in all behavior, especially in school discipline, which can be strongly influenced by the beliefs held by school personnel and students alike.
