About our Presenter:

Jane Anderson joined AEquitas in October, 2014 after having served as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami Dade County. As an Attorney Advisor with AEquitas, Jane provides technical assistance and trainings to prosecutors and allied professionals working to combat violence against women. As a felony trial prosecutor, Jane handled over 50 cases of sexual violence, including cases of sexual battery (including alcohol and drug-facilitated sexual battery), attempted sexual battery, lewd & lascivious sexual molestation and unlawful sexual activity with a specified individual. Additionally, in her role as a founding member of the Human Trafficking Unit in Miami, Jane worked extensively with victims of sexual trauma, including those that had experienced compound trauma through neglect, physical abuse, and commercial exploitation. Jane has extensive trial experience, as well as experience conducting trauma-informed investigations, leading to improved victim safety and offender accountability. Jane graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctor from American University, Washington College of Law after earning a B.A. in History from the University of Washington in Seattle.  Prior to her legal career, she lived and taught English in Bangkok, Thailand. Jane is currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
