Indiana Says NO MORE

Indiana Says NO MORE is a local version of the national NO MORE campaign developed to radically increase awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault. The cornerstone of Indiana Says NO MORE is a powerful Public Service Announcement that features multiple individuals from our community – men, women, young, and old – looking into the eyes of the viewer and declaring that “Indiana Says No More: Together we can end domestic violence and sexual assault.” You can view the PSA, pledge your support or become a campaign partner by visiting www.IndianaSaysNoMore.com.

Power of Images

In 2009, families of domestic violence homicide victims, domestic violence service providers, Vision3 Creative and the Domestic Violence Network came together to create Power of Images, a community-wide project to heighten public awareness and understanding about domestic violence in Central Indiana.

To honor the memory and capture the impact of the deaths of 12 individuals from Central Indiana who have died as a result of domestic violence, 12 banners were designed that include images of each Honoree and a comment, quote, or summarized statement to capture the essence of the lost loved one’s life and impact of his/her death on the family, friends, and community.

Individually, the Power of Images banners humanize the issue of domestic violence, appeal to broad audiences, and are appropriate to display in a variety of settings. Together, their message is a powerful means of raising awareness and encouraging community action to end domestic violence. View all of the Power of Images videos on DVN’s YouTube page.

Annual Commemoration Ceremony

Each October, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Domestic Violence Network hosts an Annual Commemoration Ceremony to celebrate survivors of domestic violence and honor those who have lost their lives to abuse in Marion, Hamilton, Madison, Hancock, Shelby, Johnson, Morgan, Hendricks and Boone Counties.

Shattering the Silence

In 2002, WTHR’s Community Affair Director Angela Cain began an inspiring Shattering the Silence campaign to increase awareness about domestic violence in our community. Through Angela’s informational and compassionate programming, Shattering the Silence has played an invaluable role in helping Hoosiers to gain awareness of the devastating effects of domestic violence and how to reach out for help. Throughout the first ten years of the Shattering the Silence campaign, local emergency shelters and domestic violence service providers have received growing support for their work and calls to Central Indiana’s domestic violence help line at 211 have increased, allowing more victims and their children to gain access to safe shelter and crucial support services.  Learn more about how you can Shatter the Silence on domestic abuse.
