March 22, 2017
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Do you serve clients who are in the United States without legal status?
Are you confused by the complicated and ever-changing immigration system?

This webinar will provide participants with information on the processes and best practices of the accredited in-house immigration services at the Center Against Sexual and Family Violence (CASFV) in El Paso, Texas. CASFV is the largest comprehensive provider of domestic violence and sexual assault services on the U.S./Mexico border and has been providing immigration services for 16 years. Discussion topics will include processes used to assess survivors’ needs while understanding unique challenges related to their status. A description of relationships developed with law enforcement, Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE), the Mexican Consulate, Immigration Court and other community partners will be shared. The process that CASFV used to become one of the few domestic violence agencies to be accredited by the Bureau of Immigration Appeals will also be discussed.
