Join us as Dr. Dean Hawley presents Strangulation in Intimate Partner Violence: Homicides and Near Homicides. Dean Hawley, M.D. is a forensic pathologist, tenured Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Director of Autopsy Services, at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. He is board certified in anatomic pathology and has been practicing forensic pathology and testifying as an expert witness in Indiana for 30 years. Dr. Hawley’s primary research interest is family violence, with current research in domestic violence and elder abuse and neglect. Dr. Hawley has authored multiple peer-reviewed scientific medical papers about fatal and non-fatal strangulation assault in domestic violence.
