DVN Youth Network is GROWING!

Seeking committed and passionate youth to join our team!

By Lindsay Hill Stawick, director of programs, Domestic Violence Network

The DVN Youth Network is a group of middle and high school students committed to becoming an advocate and resource in their school and community.  Meetings are typically held 1-2 evenings per month and are held at the DVN office. Members are tasked with the opportunity to learn more about teen dating abuse, how to assist friends experiencing an unsafe or unhealthy relationship, navigating community and school resources, and educating their school and community on various topics related to relationships and dating.  In addition to the advocacy and awareness component, Youth Network members are provided opportunities for community service and leadership development.

To give you a better idea of what the Youth Network does, take a look below at some pictures of past meetings and events.  You will find Youth Network members assisting at our annual teen dating abuse awareness event, Dance4DVN, members volunteering at a resource fair, members taking part in a campaign from the Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault, and much, much MORE!

Still need more convincing?  Send me an email and we can chat more.  Want to join? Email me! My hope for the Youth Network is that I am able to give the best support I can to empower the members to dream big, work hard, and put their innovative ideas in motion.  I look forward to meeting new youth, and I hope you will consider joining.

Be Kind,

Lindsay
